Designing for Trust

Trust cannot be an afterthought. If an AI agent executes actions at high speed, it can fail at high speed. CPOs must mandate "human-in-the-loop" UI patterns for high-stakes decisions.

Mandatory UI Components:

Show the math. Provide traceable links to the underlying data product that generated the signal. (e.g., "Risk score is high *because* velocity increased 300% in 5 mins").
Models are probabilistic. Design the UI to fail gracefully when confidence scores drop below a threshold, routing the task clearly back to a human without breaking the flow.
Never trap the user. Always provide an easy, logged way for a human to reject the AI's action. This rejection is your most valuable training data.
